An organizational and leadership development specialist, Irene Taylor has worked with, and studied, leaders and culture for more than 20 years. A recognized expert in her field, she is a regular feature writer for Lexpert, a legal business magazine. Over the past years she has research and profiled more than 300 leading lawyers for this publication.

Her most recent projects have been to interview and profile Canada ’s Top Performing Lawyers. Her articles: e.g. Carpe Diem! Canada’s Top 25 Women Lawyers, Lexpert, September 2003; Canada’s Top Corporate Litigators, Lexpert, July/August 2002 and Canada’s Top 40 Lawyers Under 40, Lexpert, November/December 2004, have been among the most widely read and reprinted, and have been extensively used for learning seminars in firms and law school across Canada.

Today Irene is the practice group leader for Praxis, a business-legal consulting group that focuses on the assessment, recruitment and professional development of senior top talent. Praxis offers such services as strategic talent profiling including 360-degree assessment, recruitment and integration support, coaching and team/practice group alignment and success. She is personally certified in over 30 leadership assessment tools and programs including: Situational Leadership, MBTI, Team Management Systems, OCI, LSI etc. Her clients include RBFG, Torys LLP, CIBC, Cadillac Fairview, McMillan Binch LLP, Agrium and many others.

Irene spent the first 15 years of her career in senior O.D. and HR roles at CIBC, Citibank and Royal Bank of Canada . In her last organizational role as the global director of Leadership and Executive Development for RBFG, she was instrumental in designing a strategy which strengthened the leadership and organizational culture, and clearly established competencies including Achievement, which continue to be used throughout RBFG. She is also the author of RFBG’s on-line paper based self-managed career planning system, Career Navigator.
